Astanga Hrudaya
शीतैर्वा स्तब्धमामे वा समुत्क्लेश्याहरन् मलान् । तानेव जनयेद्रोगान् अयोगः सर्व एव सः ॥ ८ ॥
or if the medicine becomes inactivated/suppressed by cold factors or due to the presence of āma (undigested toxins), it merely agitates the wastes (malas) without expelling them. This produces the exact same set of diseases mentioned above. All of this constitutes ayoga (inadequate or deficient administration of purification therapy).

zItairvA stabdhamAme vA samutklezyAharan malAn । tAneva janayedrogAn ayogaH sarva eva saH ॥ 8 ॥
