Astanga Hrudaya
पीतं प्रयात्यधस्तस्मिन्निष्टहानिर्मलोदयः । वामयेत्तं पुनः स्निग्धं स्मरन् पूर्वमतिक्रमम् ॥ २ ॥
the consumed medicine moves downward (causing purgation instead of vomiting). Because of this, the intended purpose of therapy is lost (iṣṭa-hāni), and there is an accumulation or aggravation of morbid doshas (malodaya). Such a patient must undergo oleation therapy (snehana) again, and keeping in mind the previous errors, should be administered the emetic treatment properly.
