पाटल्युत्पलकन्दैर्वा स्वभावादेव वा हिमम्। मद्यातिपानादब्धातौ क्षीणे तेजसि चोद्धते ॥ २९ ॥
or with pāṭali – Trichosanthes dioica, utpala kanda – tuber of Nymphaea stellata which are by nature cold in potency. By drinking wine in excess, the ap dhatus (watery tissues) get decreased and tejas (heat) gets increased.
