गूढमांसं जयेद्गुल्मं क्षारारिष्टाग्निकर्मभिः । एकान्तरं द्व्यन्तरं वा विश्रमय्याथवा त्र्यहम् ॥ १०१ ॥

concentrating on balance of increase and decrease of strength of the body and the doshas. Caustic alkali recipes described in the treatment of haemorrhodis (chapter 8), renal calculus (chapter 11) and duodenal disease (chapter 10) should be administered when kapha is greatly increased.

kuṣṭhaṃ – Saussurea lappa and sarpasugandhāṃ – Rauwolfia serpentina, two aksa (24 grams) of five types of salt are powdered and soaked in a mixture of oil, muscle fat, curds and ghee in a pot.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptघटस्यान्तः पचेत्पक्वमग्निवर्णे घटे च तम् । क्षारं गृहीत्वा क्षीराज्यतक्रमद्यादिभिः पिबेत् ॥ १०५ ॥
It is cooked till the pot becomes red-hot like the color of fire. After it cools, the ksara (caustic alkali) is taken out and consumed mixed with milk, ghee, buttermilk, wine etc.
