"देश राज विहारयोर् देश विहारस् त्रैकाल्येन कर्म फल उपघातं करोति, राज विहारस् तु कारु शिल्पि कुशीलव वाग् जीवन रूप आजीवा वैदेहक उपकारं करोति" इत्य् आचार्याः ॥
My teacher says that of a sportive king and a sportive country, a sportive country is always ruinous to the results of work, whereas a sportive king is beneficial to artisans, carpenters, musicians, buffoons and traders.
english translation
"deza rAja vihArayor deza vihAras traikAlyena karma phala upaghAtaM karoti, rAja vihAras tu kAru zilpi kuzIlava vAg jIvana rUpa AjIvA vaidehaka upakAraM karoti" ity AcAryAH ॥
