ते ह्य् अस्य मर्मज्ञ भयान् न अपराध्यन्ति" इति ॥
Possessed of habits and defects in common. with the king, they would never hurt him lest he would betray their secrets."

"साधारण एष दोषः" इति पाराशराः ॥
“Common is this fear,” says Parásara.

"तेषाम् अपि मर्मज्ञ भयात् कृत अकृतान्य् अनुवर्तेत ॥
Under the fear of betrayal of his own secrets, the king may also follow them in their good and bad acts.

यावद्भ्यो गुह्यम् आचष्टे जनेभ्यः पुरुष अधिपः । अवशः कर्मणा तेन वश्यो भवति तावताम् ॥
"Under the control of as many persons as are made aware by the king of his own secrets, might he place himself in all humility by that disclosure.

य एनम् आपत्सु प्राण आबाध युक्तास्व् अनुगृह्णीयुस् तान् अमात्यान् कुर्वीत, दृष्ट अनुरागत्वात्" इति ॥
He shall employ as ministers those who have proved faithful to him under difficulties fatal to life and are of tried devotion."
