Arthashastra
बहूनाम् एक सम्रोधः पिता पुत्र हितो भवेत् । अन्यत्र आपद ऐश्वर्यं ज्येष्ठ भागि तु पूज्यते ॥
A royal father who is the only prop for many (people) shall be favourably disposed towards his son. Except in dangers, sovereignty falling to the lot of the eldest (son) is always respected.
