Arthashastra
व्यूहं तु स्थापयित्वा पक्ष कक्ष उरस्यानाम् एकेन द्वाभ्यां वा प्रहरेत्, शेषैः प्रतिगृह्णीयात् ॥
he should strike the enemy with one or two of the divisions on the wings, flanks, and front, and capture the enemy by means of the rest of the troops.
english translation
vyUhaM tu sthApayitvA pakSa kakSa urasyAnAm ekena dvAbhyAM vA praharet, zeSaiH pratigRhNIyAt ॥
