तस्य अतिक्रमे शपथेन अग्न्य् उदक सीता प्राकार लोष्ट हस्ति स्कन्ध अश्व पृष्ट रथ उपस्थ शस्त्र रत्न बीज गन्ध रस सुवर्ण हिरण्यान्य् आलेभिरे "हन्युर् एतानि त्यजेयुश् च एनं यः शपथम् अतिक्रामेत्" इति ॥

In case of any apprehension of breach of honesty, they made their agreement by swearing by fire, water, plough, the brick of a fort-wall, the shoulder of an elephant, the hips of a horse, the front of a chariot, a weapon, seeds, scents, juice (rasa), wrought gold (suvarna), or bullion gold (hiranya), and by declaring that these things will destroy and desert him who violates the oath.

english translation

tasya atikrame zapathena agny udaka sItA prAkAra loSTa hasti skandha azva pRSTa ratha upastha zastra ratna bIja gandha rasa suvarNa hiraNyAny Alebhire "hanyur etAni tyajeyuz ca enaM yaH zapatham atikrAmet" iti ॥
