लक्ष्य लम्भ अधिकारे अपि स्थैर्य प्रतिपत्त्य् असम्मोषैः शूरः कृत अस्त्रम् अतिसंधत्ते ॥
Notwithstanding the capacity for hitting objects aright, a brave prince excels a trained prince in determination and firm adherence to his policy.

बह्व् एक पुत्रयोर् बहु पुत्र एकं दत्त्वा शेष प्रतिष्टब्धः संधिम् अतिक्रामति, न इतरः ॥
With regard to a king having many sons and another an only son, the former, giving one of his sons as a hostage and being contented with the rest, is able to break the peace but not the latter.

पुत्र सर्व स्व दाने संधिश् चेत् पुत्र फलतो विशेषः ॥
When peace is made by handing over the whole lot of sons, advantage is to be sought in capacity to beget additional sons.

सम फलयोः शक्त प्रजननतो विशेषः ॥
capacity to beget additional sons being common, he who can beget able sons will have more advantages than another king (who is not so fortunate).
