भूमि द्रव्य कन्या दानम् अभयस्य च इति दानम् आचरेत् ॥
Gifts of land, of things, and of girls in marriage and absence of fear,--by declaring these, he should observe the policy of gifts.
english translation
bhUmi dravya kanyA dAnam abhayasya ca iti dAnam Acaret ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसामन्त आटविक तत् कुलीन अपरुद्धानाम् अन्यतम उपग्रहेण कोश दण्ड भूमि दाय याचनम् इति भेदम् आचरेत् ॥
By instigating any one of a neighbouring king, a wild chief, a scion of the enemy's family, or an imprisoned prince, he should sow the seeds of dissension. By capturing the enemy in an open battle, or in a treacherous fight, or through a conspiracy, or in the tumult of seizing the enemy's fort by strategic means, he should punish the enemy.

sAmanta ATavika tat kulIna aparuddhAnAm anyatama upagraheNa koza daNDa bhUmi dAya yAcanam iti bhedam Acaret ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रकाश कूट तूष्णीं युद्ध दुर्ग लम्भ उपायैर् अमित्र प्रग्रहणम् इति दण्डम् आचरेत् ॥
He should apply the policy of punishment by capturing the enemy through open (direct) attack, stratagem, silent measures, warfare, seizure of forts, and methods of gaining advantage.

prakAza kUTa tUSNIM yuddha durga lambha upAyair amitra pragrahaNam iti daNDam Acaret ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवम् उत्साहवतो दण्ड उपकारिणः स्थापयेत्, स्व प्रभाववतः कोश उपकारिणः, प्रज्ञावतो भूम्य् उपकारिणः ॥
He may reinstate kings who are spirited and who can strengthen his army; likewise he may reinstate those who are possessed of a good treasury and army and who can therefore help him with money; as well as those who are wise and who can therefore provide him with lands.
english translation
evam utsAhavato daNDa upakAriNaH sthApayet, sva prabhAvavataH koza upakAriNaH, prajJAvato bhUmy upakAriNaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतेषां पण्य पत्तन ग्राम खनि संजातेन रत्न सार फल्गु कुप्येन द्रव्य हस्ति वन व्रज समुत्थेन यान वाहनेन वा यद् बहुश उपकरोति तच् चित्र भोगम् ॥
Whoever among his friends helps him with gems, precious things, raw materials acquired from commercial towns, villages, and mines, or with conveyances and draught-animals acquired from timber and elephant-forests, and herds of cattle, is a friend affording a variety of enjoyment (chitrabhoga).

teSAM paNya pattana grAma khani saMjAtena ratna sAra phalgu kupyena dravya hasti vana vraja samutthena yAna vAhanena vA yad bahuza upakaroti tac citra bhogam ॥
