लब्ध संश्रयः समय आचारिकवद् भर्तरि वर्तेत ॥
Having secured his enemy's protection, he should behave himself like a servant to his master by serving the protector's occasional needs.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptदुर्ग आदीनि च कर्माणि आवाह विवाह पुत्र अभिषेक अश्व पण्य हस्ति ग्रहण सत्त्र यात्रा विहार गमनानि च अनुज्ञातः कुर्वीत ॥
Forts and other defensive works, acquisition of things, celebration of marriages, installation of the heir-apparent, commercial undertakings, capture of elephants, construction of covert places for battle (sattra), marching against an enemy, and holding sports,--all these he should undertake only at the permission of his protector.

durga AdIni ca karmANi AvAha vivAha putra abhiSeka azva paNya hasti grahaNa sattra yAtrA vihAra gamanAni ca anujJAtaH kurvIta ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्व भूम्य् अवस्थित प्रकृति संधिम् उपघातम् अपसृतेषु वा सर्वम् अनुज्ञातः कुर्वीत ॥
He should also obtain his protector's permission before making any agreement with people settled in his country or before punishing those who may run away from his country.

sva bhUmy avasthita prakRti saMdhim upaghAtam apasRteSu vA sarvam anujJAtaH kurvIta ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदुष्ट पौर जानपदो वा न्याय वृत्तिर् अन्यां भूमिं याचेत ॥
If the citizens and country people living in his kingdom prove disloyal or inimical to him, he may request of his protector another good country.
english translation
duSTa paura jAnapado vA nyAya vRttir anyAM bhUmiM yAceta ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदुष्यवद् उपांशु दण्डेन वा प्रतिकुर्वीत ॥
or he may get rid of wicked people by making use of such secret means as are employed against traitors.
