तेन अमित्र अटवी बल घातो व्याख्यातः ॥
This explains the destruction of other enemies and wild tribes.
english translation
tena amitra aTavI bala ghAto vyAkhyAtaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपार्ष्णि ग्राहो अभियोक्ता वा यातव्यो वा यदा भवेत् । विजिगीषुस् तदा तत्र नेत्रम् एतत् समाचरेत् ॥
When an enemy in the rear and in the front, and an assailable enemy to be marched against happen together then the conqueror should adopt the following policy.
english translation
pArSNi grAho abhiyoktA vA yAtavyo vA yadA bhavet । vijigISus tadA tatra netram etat samAcaret ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपार्ष्णि ग्राहो भवेन् नेता शत्रोर् मित्र अभियोगिनः । विग्राह्य पूर्वम् आक्रन्दं पार्ष्णि ग्राह अभिसारिणा ॥
The rear-enemy will usually lead the conqueror's frontal enemy to attack the conqueror's friend; then having set the ákranda (the enemy of the rear-enemy) against the rear-enemy's ally.
english translation
pArSNi grAho bhaven netA zatror mitra abhiyoginaH । vigrAhya pUrvam AkrandaM pArSNi grAha abhisAriNA ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआक्रन्देन अभियुञ्जानः पार्ष्णि ग्राहं निवारयेत् । तथा आक्रन्द अभिसारेण पार्ष्णि ग्राह अभिसारिणम् ॥
and, having caused war between them, the conqueror should frustrate the rear-enemy's designs; likewise he should provoke hostilities between, the allies of the ákranda and of the rear-enemy.
english translation
Akrandena abhiyuJjAnaH pArSNi grAhaM nivArayet । tathA Akranda abhisAreNa pArSNi grAha abhisAriNam ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअरि मित्रेण मित्रं च पुरस्ताद् अवघट्टयेत् । मित्र मित्रम् अरेश् च अपि मित्र मित्रेण वारयेत् ॥
he should also keep his frontal enemy's friend engaged in war with his own friend; and with the help of his friend's friend, he should avert the attack, threatened by the friend of his enemy's friend.
english translation
ari mitreNa mitraM ca purastAd avaghaTTayet । mitra mitram arez ca api mitra mitreNa vArayet ॥
