ततः स्वामी हस्ति बन्धनम् अटवी घातं वा अपदिश्य गूढम् एव प्रहरेत् ॥
he may send them down to the conqueror to be routed down on the occasion of a farcical attempt to capture elephants or wild tribes.

tataH svAmI hasti bandhanam aTavI ghAtaM vA apadizya gUDham eva praharet ॥

This explains the work of ministers and wild chiefs under the mission of the conqueror.

After making peace with the enemy, the conqueror may dismiss his own confidential ministers.

zatruNA maitrIM kRtvA amAtyAn avakSipet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptते तत् शत्रोः प्रेषयेयुः "भर्तारं नः प्रसादय" इति ॥
They may request the enemy to reconcile them to their master.

te tat zatroH preSayeyuH "bhartAraM naH prasAdaya" iti ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस यं दूतं प्रेषयेत्, तम् उपालभेत "भर्ता ते माम् अमात्यैर् भेदयति, न च पुनर् इह आगन्तव्यम्" इति ॥
When the enemy sends a messenger for this purpose, the conqueror may rebuke him and say: "Thy master attempts to sow the seeds of dissension between myself and my ministers; so thou should not come here again."

sa yaM dUtaM preSayet, tam upAlabheta "bhartA te mAm amAtyair bhedayati, na ca punar iha Agantavyam" iti ॥
