याचितकम् अवक्रीतकं वा यथा विधं गृह्णीयुस् तथा विधम् एव अर्पयेयुः ॥
(Borrowed or hired properties.) Properties either borrowed (yáchitakam) or hired (avakrítakam) shall be returned as intact as they were when received.

भ्रेष उपनिपाताभ्यां देश काल उपरोधि दत्तं नष्टं विनष्टं वा न अभ्यावहेयुः ॥
If owing to distance in time or place, or owing to some inherent defects of the properties or to some unforeseen accidents, properties either borrowed or hired are lost or destroyed, they need not be made good.

वैयावृत्य विक्रयस् तु वैयावृत्य करा यथा देश कालं विक्रीणानाः पण्यं यथा जातं मूल्यम् उदयं च दद्युः ॥
(Retail sale.) Retail dealers, selling the merchandise of others at prices prevailing at particular localities and times shall hand over to the wholesale dealers as much of the sale proceeds and profit as is realised by them.
