उपैमि शरणं च अग्निं दैवतानि दिशो दश । अपयान्तु च सर्वाणि वशतां यान्तु मे सदा ॥
I take refuge with the god of fire and with all the goddesses in the ten quarters; may all obstructions vanish and may all things come under my power.
english translation
upaimi zaraNaM ca agniM daivatAni dizo daza । apayAntu ca sarvANi vazatAM yAntu me sadA ॥

The application of the above mantra is as follows.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptत्रि रात्र उपोस्षितः पुष्येण शर्करा एक विंशति सम्पातं कृत्वा मधु घृताभ्याम् अभिजुहुयात् ॥
Having fasted for three nights and having on the day of the star of Pushya prepared twenty-one pieces of sugar-candy, one should make oblation into the fire with honey and clarified butter.

tri rAtra uposSitaH puSyeNa zarkarA eka viMzati sampAtaM kRtvA madhu ghRtAbhyAm abhijuhuyAt ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो गन्ध माल्येन पूजयित्वा निखानयेत् ॥
and having worshipped the pieces of sugar-candy with scents and garlands of flowers, one should bury them.

tato gandha mAlyena pUjayitvA nikhAnayet ॥
