श्वा विधः शल्यकानि त्रि श्वेतानि, सप्त रात्र उपोषितः कृष्ण चतुर्दश्यां खादिराभिः समिधामिर् अग्निम् एतेन मन्त्रेण अष्ट शत सम्पातं कृत्वा मधु घृताभ्याम् अभिजुहुयात् ॥
Having fasted for seven nights, ॥ one॥ should offer oblations with honey and ghee into the fire ॥ made॥ with eight hundred pieces of khadira firewood, using this mantra, on the fourteenth day of the dark fortnight, ॥ having procured॥ three white porcupine quills.
english translation
zvA vidhaH zalyakAni tri zvetAni, sapta rAtra upoSitaH kRSNa caturdazyAM khAdirAbhiH samidhAmir agnim etena mantreNa aSTa zata sampAtaM kRtvA madhu ghRtAbhyAm abhijuhuyAt ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत एकम् एतेन मन्त्रेण ग्राम द्वारि गृह द्वारि वा यत्र निखन्यते तत् सर्वं प्रस्वापयति ॥
Then, wherever one buries one ॥ quill॥ chanting this mantra, at the village gate or the house door , he puts everyone ॥ there॥ to sleep.
english translation
tata ekam etena mantreNa grAma dvAri gRha dvAri vA yatra nikhanyate tat sarvaM prasvApayati ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबलिं वैरोचनं वन्दे शतमायं च शम्बरम् । निकुम्भं नरकं कुम्भं तन्तु कच्छं महा असुरम् ॥
I bow to Bali, the son of Vairochana, to S'atamáya, S'ambara, Nikumbha, Naraka, Kumbha, Tantukachchha, the great demon.
english translation
baliM vairocanaM vande zatamAyaM ca zambaram । nikumbhaM narakaM kumbhaM tantu kacchaM mahA asuram ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअर्मालवं प्रमीलं च मण्ड उलूकं घट उबलम् । कृष्ण कंस उपचारं च पौलोमीं च यशस्विनीम् ॥
To Armálava, Pramíla, Mandolúka, Ghatodbala, to Krishna with his followers, and to the famous woman, Paulomi.
english translation
armAlavaM pramIlaM ca maNDa ulUkaM ghaTa ubalam । kRSNa kaMsa upacAraM ca paulomIM ca yazasvinIm ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअभिमन्त्रयित्वा गृह्णामि सिद्ध्य् अर्थं शव शारिकाम् । जयतु जयति च नमः शलक भूतेभ्यः स्वाहा ॥
Chanting the sacred mantras, I do take the pith or the bone of the corpse (savasárika) productive of my desired ends--may S'alaka demons be victorious; salutation to them; oblation!
english translation
abhimantrayitvA gRhNAmi siddhy arthaM zava zArikAm । jayatu jayati ca namaH zalaka bhUtebhyaH svAhA ॥
