नीराजनाम् आश्वयुजे कारयेन् नवमे अहनि । यात्रा आदाव् अवसाने वा व्याधौ वा शान्तिके रतः ॥

sanskrit

Not only on the ninth day of the month of Asvayuja, but also both at the commencement and close of journeys (yátra) as well as in the time of disease shall a priest wave lights invoking blessings on the horses.

english translation

nIrAjanAm Azvayuje kArayen navame ahani । yAtrA AdAv avasAne vA vyAdhau vA zAntike rataH ॥
