It is in the month of Ashádha that no shadow is cast in midday.

अतः परं श्रावण आदीनां षण् मासानां द्व्य् अङ्गुल उत्तरा माघ आदीनां द्व्य् अङ्गुल अवरा छाया इति ॥

After Ashádha, during the six months from Srávana upwards, the length of shadow successively increases by two angulas and during the next six months from Mágha upwards, it successively decreases by two angulas.
