दृष्टा हि जीवतः पुनर् आवृत्तिर् यथा सुयात्रा उदयनाभ्याम् ॥
When it is impossible to do this, he should run away, leaving all that belongs to him; for if he lives, his return to power is certain as in the case of Suyátra and Udayana.
english translation
dRSTA hi jIvataH punar AvRttir yathA suyAtrA udayanAbhyAm ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइतो लाभ इतरतो राज्य अभिमर्श इत्य् उभयतो अर्थ अनर्थ आपद् भवति ॥
When there is the prospect of wealth from one side and the apprehension of an attack from another, it is termed a situation beset with wealth and harm.
english translation
ito lAbha itarato rAjya abhimarza ity ubhayato artha anartha Apad bhavati ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्याम् अनर्थ साधको यो अर्थस् तम् आदातुं यायात् ॥
In this case, he should march to acquire that wealth which will enable him to ward off the attack;

tasyAm anartha sAdhako yo arthas tam AdAtuM yAyAt ॥

otherwise he should attempt to avert the attack.

This explains the situation which is beset with wealth and harm on all sides.
