अन्येभ्यस् तद् विधेभ्यो वा भूमि दानैर् विश्वासयेद् एनम् ॥
One should gain his trust through gifts of land, either to others or to people of that kind.

anyebhyas tad vidhebhyo vA bhUmi dAnair vizvAsayed enam ॥

or a conspiracy may be made with a frontier king or wild tribes whose displeasure he has incurred;
