Arthashastra
यो अस्य पुत्रः समीपे दुर्गे वा प्रतिवसति तं सत्त्रिणा उपजापयेत् "आत्म सम्पन्नतरस् त्वं पुत्रः, तथा अप्य् अन्तर् हितः, तत् किम् उपेक्षसे विक्रम्य गृहाण, पुरा त्वा युव राजो विनाशयति" इति ॥
If one of the sons of the commander-in-chief is living near or inside the fort, a spy may tell him: "You are the most worthy son; still you are neglected; why are you indifferent? Seize your position by force; otherwise the heir-apparent will destroy you."
english translation
yo asya putraH samIpe durge vA prativasati taM sattriNA upajApayet "Atma sampannataras tvaM putraH, tathA apy antar hitaH, tat kim upekSase vikramya gRhANa, purA tvA yuva rAjo vinAzayati" iti ॥
