Arthashastra
सेना मुख्य प्रकृति पुरुषान् वा भूम्या हिरण्येन वा लोभयित्वा स्वेषु विक्रमयेद् अपवाहयेद् वा ॥
By enticing the generals, high-ranking ministers, or leading citizens with offers of land or gold , one should incite them to turn against their own people or induce them to defect.
english translation
senA mukhya prakRti puruSAn vA bhUmyA hiraNyena vA lobhayitvA sveSu vikramayed apavAhayed vA ॥
