Arthashastra
स भवान् न अर्हति मित्र मुखानाम् अमित्राणां श्रोतुम्, मित्राण्य् उद्वेजयितुम् अमित्रांश् च श्रेयसा योक्तुम्, प्राण संशयम् अनर्थं च उपगन्तुम्" इति यच्छेत् ॥
Hence, it is not worthy of you to lend your ear to those enemies with the face of friends, to expose your real friends to trouble, to help your enemies to attain success, and to involve yourself in dangers costing life and wealth."
english translation
sa bhavAn na arhati mitra mukhAnAm amitrANAM zrotum, mitrANy udvejayitum amitrAMz ca zreyasA yoktum, prANa saMzayam anarthaM ca upagantum" iti yacchet ॥
