प्राग् एषाम् उदयः पश्चाद् अस्तो दृक्कर्म पूर्ववत् । गतैष्यदिवसप्राप्तिर् भानुभुक्त्या सदैव हि॥
The constellations rise in the east and set in the west. Determine the measure of days as said in the verse 10 using the akshadåkkarmas (correction in polar longitude to yield a point on the ecliptic rising and setting with the constellation) on the daily motion of the sun.

अभिजिद् ब्रह्महृदयम् स्वातीवैष्णववासवाः। अहिर्बुध्न्यम् उदक्स्थत्वान् न लुप्यन्ते +अर्करश्मिभिः॥
Abhijit, Vramhahådaya, Swäté, Çravaëä, Dhanisthä, Uttarabhadrapada—all these because of their location at far north, are never obliterated by the sun’s rays.
