वारप्रवृत्तिः प्राग्देशे क्षपार्धे +अभ्यधिके भवेत्। तद्देशान्तरनाडीभिः पश्चाद् ऊने विनिर्दिशेत् ॥

A day of the week begins at the Des'ántara Ghaṭikás after or before the mid-night at the given place according as it is east or west of the Middle Line.

english translation

इष्टनाडीगुणा भुक्तिः षष्ट्या भक्ता कलादिकम्। गते शोध्यम् युतम् गम्ये कृत्वा तात्कालिको भवेत् ॥

(If you want to know the place of a planet at a given time after or before a given mid-night,) multiply the daily motion of the planet by the given time in Ghaṭikás, divide the product by 60, and add or subtract the quotient, in minutes, to or from the place of the planet found at the given (mid-night,) and you have the place of the planet at the given time after or before the given mid-night. The place of the planet, thus found, is called its Tátkálika or instantaneous place.

भचक्रलिप्ताशीत्यम्शम् परमम् दक्षिणोत्तरम्। विक्षिप्यते स्वपातेन स्वक्रान्त्यन्ताद् अनुष्णगुः ॥

The Moon's deflection to the north and south from the end of the declination of her corresponding point at the Ecliptic is caused by her node. The measure of her greatest deflection is equal to the ⁠ 1 / 80 ⁠th part of the minutes in a circle.

तन्नवाम्शम् द्विगुणितम् जीवस् त्रिगुणितम् कुजः। बुधशुक्रार्कजाः पातैर् विक्षिप्यन्ते चतुर्गुणम् ॥

The measures of the greatest deflections of Jupiter and Mars caused by their nodes are respectively ⁠ 2 / 9 ⁠ and ⁠ 3 / 9 ⁠ of that of the Moon, and that of Mercury, Yenus and Saturn is ⁠ 4 / 90 ⁠ of the Moon's greatest deflection.

एवम् त्रिघनरन्ध्रार्करसार्कार्का दशाहताः। चन्द्रादीनाम् क्रमाद् उक्ता मध्यविकेषेपलिप्तिकाः ॥

Thus the mean greatest latitudes of the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn are declared to be 270, 90, 120, 60, 120 and 120 minutes respectively.
