तस्य जन्म महाबुद्धेः कर्माणि च महात्मनः । निधनं च यथैवासीत्स प्रेत्य गतवान् यथा ॥ १-१२-२ ॥
How was the great emperor Parīkṣit, who was a highly intelligent and great devotee, born in that womb? How did his death take place, and what did he achieve after his death? ॥ 1-12-2 ॥

अत्यन्त बुद्धिमान तथा महान् भक्त महाराज परीक्षित उस गर्भ से कैसे उत्पन्न हुए? उनकी मृत्यु किस तरह हुई? और मृत्यु के बाद उन्होंने कौन सी गति प्राप्त की? ॥ १-१२-२ ॥
