Shiva Purana
इत्युक्ता मुनिशार्दूलाः पार्थिवार्चा विधानतः । भुक्तिदा मुक्तिदा चैव शिवभक्तिविवर्धिनी ६४ ।
O foremost among sages, thus have I explained to you the procedure for the worship of the phallic image that accords worldly pleasures, salvation and increases devotion to Śiva.

ityuktA munizArdUlAH pArthivArcA vidhAnataH । bhuktidA muktidA caiva zivabhaktivivardhinI 64 ।
