Hence the intelligent devotee shall know that the physical body of the preceptor is known as Guruliṅga the worship of which is service rendered to the preceptor.
One should listen attentively with the body, mind, and speech, and perform the service as instructed by the Guru. Whatever has been told by the Guru earlier, whether it is possible or impossible, one should strive to accomplish it.
करोत्येव हि पूतात्मा प्राणैरपि धनैरपि । तस्माद्वै शासने योग्यः शिष्य इत्यभिधीयते ८८ ।
The pure-hearted soul performs actions with their body, life, and wealth. Therefore, such a person is called a worthy disciple (who is fit for instruction).
Dedicating all he has, even his body, to the preceptor, the disciple shall offer his food first to the preceptor and then take his food with his permission.
The disciple is called the son due to his eternal connection with the master. The sacred syllables (linga), mantras, and semen (energy) are to be placed in the mouth, ears, and other sacred places for purification and spiritual practice.
