One should chant the Pañcākṣarī mantra with devotion, facing the direction of the breath (prāṇamukha), after completing their daily duties. This should be done on the Krishna Chaturdashi (the fourteenth day of the dark fortnight) in the morning.
In a beautiful and pure place, with a controlled and pure mind, one should chant the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namah Shivaya) a thousand or twelve hundred times.
