Shiva Purana
वंध्या सुपुत्रं लभते स्वर्णरौप्यादिदानतः । कृत्तिकाशनिवारेषु दिक्पालानां च वंदनम् ५७ ।
A childless woman who performs donations of gold, silver, and other valuable items will be blessed with a good son. Additionally, by worshipping and offering prayers to the Dikpālas (guardians of the directions) on Kṛttikā days, one attains prosperity and protection.
english translation
vaMdhyA suputraM labhate svarNaraupyAdidAnataH । kRttikAzanivAreSu dikpAlAnAM ca vaMdanam 57 ।
