गुरूपदेशं संगम्य सुखवासे सुभूतले । पूर्वपक्षे समारभ्य कृष्णभूतावधि द्विजाः ३५ ।

O brahmins, the devotee shall take instruction from his preceptor, sit comfortably on the ground cleaned well, and start the Japa. The practice shall start on the Caturdaśī day of the bright half and concluded on the Caturdaśī day of the dark half.

gurUpadezaM saMgamya sukhavAse subhUtale | pUrvapakSe samArabhya kRSNabhUtAvadhi dvijAH 35 |
