त्रेतायुगे त्रिपादं च द्वापरेऽर्धं सदा स्मृतम् । कलौ पादं तु विज्ञेयं तत्पादोनं ततोर्द्धके ७ ।

sanskrit

In the Tretā age they yield three-fourths of the benefit. In the age of Dvāpara the benefit derived is half. In the age of Kali only one fourth of the benefit is obtained. When half of the Kali age passes on, the benefit is only three-fourths of this one-fourth.

english translation

tretAyuge tripAdaM ca dvApare'rdhaM sadA smRtam | kalau pAdaM tu vijJeyaM tatpAdonaM tatorddhake 7 |
