भूदानं तु प्रतिष्ठार्थमिह चाऽमुत्र च द्विजाः । तिलदानं बलार्थं हि सदा मृत्युजयं विदुः ४७ ।

sanskrit

Gift of plots of land is conducive to stability here and hereafter, O brahmins. Gift of gingelly seeds is conducive to strength and to the conquest of premature death.

english translation

bhUdAnaM tu pratiSThArthamiha cA'mutra ca dvijAH | tiladAnaM balArthaM hi sadA mRtyujayaM viduH 47 |
