ताभ्यां प्रववृत्ते युद्धं विष्णोरतुलतेजसः ॥ पञ्चवर्षसहस्राणि बाहुयुद्धमभूत्तदा ॥ ७१॥

sanskrit

A battle ensued between Viṣṇu of unequalled splendour and the two Daityas lasting for five thousand years. Then there ensued a hand-to-hand fight.

english translation

tAbhyAM pravavRtte yuddhaM viSNoratulatejasaH ॥ paJcavarSasahasrANi bAhuyuddhamabhUttadA ॥ 71॥
