सूत उवाच ।। धन्या यूयं महात्मानः कृतकृत्याः स्थ सर्वदा ।। यत्पृच्छथ पराम्बाया उमायाश्चरितं महत् ।। ६।।

sanskrit

Sūta said:— You are all blessed and contented noble souls in as much as you inquire about the great story of Umā, the great mother.

english translation

sUta uvAca || dhanyA yUyaM mahAtmAnaH kRtakRtyAH stha sarvadA || yatpRcchatha parAmbAyA umAyAzcaritaM mahat || 6||

शृण्वतां पृच्छतां चैव तथा वाचयतां च तत् ।। पादाम्बुजरजांस्येव तीर्थानि मुनयो विदुः ।। ७।।

sanskrit

Sages consider the dust-particles of the feet of those who listen, narrate and inquire about it, on a par with holy centres.

english translation

zRNvatAM pRcchatAM caiva tathA vAcayatAM ca tat || pAdAmbujarajAMsyeva tIrthAni munayo viduH || 7||

ते धन्या कृतकृत्याः स्युर्धन्या तेषां प्रसूः कुलम् ।। येषां चित्तं भवेल्लीनं श्रीदेव्यां परसंविदि ।। ८ ।।

sanskrit

Blessed and contented are they, their parents and their family, whose mind is merged in the goddess, the great Knowledge.

english translation

te dhanyA kRtakRtyAH syurdhanyA teSAM prasUH kulam || yeSAM cittaM bhavellInaM zrIdevyAM parasaMvidi || 8 ||

ये न स्तुवन्ति देवेशीं सर्वकारणकारणाम् ।। मायागुणैर्मोहितास्स्युर्हतभाग्या न संशयः ।। ९ ।।

sanskrit

Those who do not eulogise the goddess of the gods, the cause of all causes are deluded by the attributes of Māyā. They are unfortunate. There is no doubt in this.

english translation

ye na stuvanti devezIM sarvakAraNakAraNAm || mAyAguNairmohitAssyurhatabhAgyA na saMzayaH || 9 ||

न भजन्ति महादेवीं करुणारससागराम् ।। अन्धकूपे पतन्त्येते घोरे संसाररूपिणि ।। १०।।

sanskrit

Those who do not worship the great goddess, the ocean of the juice of mercy, fall in the blind well in the form of the cruel worldly existence.

english translation

na bhajanti mahAdevIM karuNArasasAgarAm || andhakUpe patantyete ghore saMsArarUpiNi || 10||
