महिम्ना येन शंभोस्तु येये लोके विमोहिताः ॥ मायया ज्ञानमाहृत्य नानालीलाविहारिणः ॥ ६ ॥
Who are the people deluded by the Māyā of Śiva who indulges in great sports? What is that greatness by which their knowledge has been deluded?
english translation
mahimnA yena zaMbhostu yeye loke vimohitAH ॥ mAyayA jJAnamAhRtya nAnAlIlAvihAriNaH ॥ 6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscript॥ सनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ शृणु व्यास महाबुद्धे शांकरीं सुखदां कथाम् ॥ तस्याः श्रवणमात्रेण शिवे भक्तिः प्रजायते ॥ ७॥
Sanatkumāra said:— 7. O Vyāsa, of great intellect, listen to the pleasing story of Śiva, the mere hearing of which generates devotion to Śiva.
english translation
॥ sanatkumAra uvAca ॥ zRNu vyAsa mahAbuddhe zAMkarIM sukhadAM kathAm ॥ tasyAH zravaNamAtreNa zive bhaktiH prajAyate ॥ 7॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशिवस्सर्वेश्वरो देवस्सर्वात्मा सर्वदर्शनः ॥ महिम्ना तस्य सर्वं हि व्याप्तं च सकलं जगत्॥ ८॥
Lord Śiva is the lord of all, soul of all and the vision of all. The entire universe has been pervaded by his greatness.
english translation
zivassarvezvaro devassarvAtmA sarvadarzanaH ॥ mahimnA tasya sarvaM hi vyAptaM ca sakalaM jagat॥ 8॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशिवस्यैव परा मूर्तिर्ब्रह्मविष्ण्वीश्वरात्मिका ॥ सर्वभूतात्मभूताख्या त्रिलिंगा लिंगरूपिणी॥ ९॥
It is the great image of Śiva that manifests as Brahmā. Viṣṇu and Śiva. It is that which has become the soul of all living beings. It is both three-symbolled and symbolless.
english translation
zivasyaiva parA mUrtirbrahmaviSNvIzvarAtmikA ॥ sarvabhUtAtmabhUtAkhyA triliMgA liMgarUpiNI॥ 9॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदेवानां योनयश्चाष्टौ मानुषी नवमी च या॥ तिरश्चां योनयः पंच भवंत्येवं चतुर्द्दश॥ १०॥
There are eight classes of gods. Human beings constitute the ninth. There are five types of lower beings. Thus there are fourteen types of living beings.
english translation
devAnAM yonayazcASTau mAnuSI navamI ca yA॥ tirazcAM yonayaH paMca bhavaMtyevaM caturddaza॥ 10॥
