पुरैव तस्यांतरे तु आदित्या द्वादश स्मृताः ॥ इति प्रोक्तानि क्रमशोऽदित्यपत्यानि शौनक ॥ ९ ॥

In the past, the twelve suns were mentioned in the interval. O Śaunaka I have thus described the sons of the sun in order.

puraiva tasyAMtare tu AdityA dvAdaza smRtAH ॥ iti proktAni kramazo'dityapatyAni zaunaka ॥ 9 ॥
