इत्युक्तं ते महाप्राज्ञ तपोमाहात्म्यमुत्तमम् ।। शृण्वध्ययनमाहात्म्यं तपसोऽधिकमुत्तमम् ।। ५४ ।।
O intelligent one, thus the excellent glory of penance (tapas) has been mentioned to you. Now listen to the glory of the study of the Vedas which is far more excellent than penance itself.
