जगदम्बां जगत्पित्रे मूलप्रकृतिमीश्वरीम् ।। कन्यां प्रदाय गिरिजां कृती त्वं भव पर्वत ।।६१।।

sanskrit

O Mountain (Himavat), by giving your daughter Girijā — Who is the Mother of the Universe, the consort of the Lord of the worlds, the very source of all creation, and the supreme Goddess — to Him (Shiva), you have acted virtuously and become blessed indeed.

english translation

jagadambAM jagatpitre mUlaprakRtimIzvarIm || kanyAM pradAya girijAM kRtI tvaM bhava parvata ||61||

ब्रह्मोवाच ।। इत्युक्त्वा मुनिशार्दूलो वसिष्ठो ज्ञानिसत्तमः ।। विरराम शिवं स्मृत्वा नानालीलाकरं प्रभुम् ।। ६२ ।।

sanskrit

Brahmā said: After saying this, the excellent sage Vasiṣṭha, most excellent of wise men, stopped after remembering lord Śiva, the creator of divine sports of diverse varieties.

english translation

brahmovAca || ityuktvA munizArdUlo vasiSTho jJAnisattamaH || virarAma zivaM smRtvA nAnAlIlAkaraM prabhum || 62 ||
