जगदम्बां जगत्पित्रे मूलप्रकृतिमीश्वरीम् ॥ कन्यां प्रदाय गिरिजां कृती त्वं भव पर्वत ॥६१॥

sanskrit

O Mountain (Himavat), by giving your daughter Girijā — Who is the Mother of the Universe, the consort of the Lord of the worlds, the very source of all creation, and the supreme Goddess — to Him (Shiva), you have acted virtuously and become blessed indeed.

english translation

jagadambAM jagatpitre mUlaprakRtimIzvarIm ॥ kanyAM pradAya girijAM kRtI tvaM bhava parvata ॥61॥

ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इत्युक्त्वा मुनिशार्दूलो वसिष्ठो ज्ञानिसत्तमः ॥ विरराम शिवं स्मृत्वा नानालीलाकरं प्रभुम् ॥ ६२ ॥

Brahmā said: After saying this, the excellent sage Vasiṣṭha, most excellent of wise men, stopped after remembering lord Śiva, the creator of divine sports of diverse varieties.

brahmovAca ॥ ityuktvA munizArdUlo vasiSTho jJAnisattamaH ॥ virarAma zivaM smRtvA nAnAlIlAkaraM prabhum ॥ 62 ॥
