तस्याः पुरोडाशमयं शरीरं तत्क्षणात्ततः ॥ दग्धं पुरोडाशगंधं तस्तार यदलक्षितम् ॥६॥
Her body itself had become sacrificial offering in that sacrifice. When it was burnt it could not be distinguished from the ordinary Puroḍāśā since it too had the same fragrance.
english translation
tasyAH puroDAzamayaM zarIraM tatkSaNAttataH ॥ dagdhaM puroDAzagaMdhaM tastAra yadalakSitam ॥6॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवह्निस्तस्याः शरीरं तु दग्ध्वा सूर्यस्य मंडलम् ॥ शुद्धं प्रवेशयामास शंभोरेवाज्ञया पुनः ॥७॥
At the bidding of Śiva, the god of fire sent forth her body to the pure zone of the sun.
english translation
vahnistasyAH zarIraM tu dagdhvA sUryasya maMDalam ॥ zuddhaM pravezayAmAsa zaMbhorevAjJayA punaH ॥7॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसूर्यो त्र्यर्थं विभज्याथ तच्छरीरं तदा रथे ॥ स्वकेशं स्थापयामास प्रीतये पितृदेवयोः ॥८॥
The sun severed her body into two halves and placed the same on his own chariot for the propitiation of the Pitṛs and the Devas.
english translation
sUryo tryarthaM vibhajyAtha taccharIraM tadA rathe ॥ svakezaM sthApayAmAsa prItaye pitRdevayoH ॥8॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतदूर्द्ध्वभागस्तस्यास्तु शरीरस्य मुनीश्वर॥ प्रातस्संध्याभवत्सा तु अहोरात्रादिमध्यगा।९।
O great sage, the upper half of her body became the Prātaḥ Sandhyā (dawn) which is at the beginning or in the middle of a day and night.
english translation
tadUrddhvabhAgastasyAstu zarIrasya munIzvara॥ prAtassaMdhyAbhavatsA tu ahorAtrAdimadhyagA।9।
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतच्छेषभागस्तस्यास्तु अहोरात्रांतमध्यगा ॥ सा सायमभवत्संध्या पितृप्रीतिप्रदा सदा ॥2-2-7-१ ०॥
The lower half of her body became the Sāyaṃsandhyā (dusk) which is in the middle of a day and night. The period is always pleasing to the manes.
