ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इत्युक्त्वा प्रददौ तस्यै देहस्वेदांबुसम्भवाम् ॥ कंदर्प्पायाग्रतः कृत्वा नाम कृत्वा रतीति ताम् ॥ ६ ॥
Brahmā said: Saying so, he presented to him the girl born of his sweat after naming her Rati.
english translation
brahmovAca ॥ ityuktvA pradadau tasyai dehasvedAMbusambhavAm ॥ kaMdarppAyAgrataH kRtvA nAma kRtvA ratIti tAm ॥ 6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविवाह्य तां स्मरस्सोपि मुमोदातीव नारद ॥ दक्षजां तनयां रम्यां मुनीनामपि मोहिनीम् ॥ ७ ॥
O Nārada, after marrying the beautiful daughter of Dakṣa who could enchant even sages, Kāma rejoiced much.
english translation
vivAhya tAM smarassopi mumodAtIva nArada ॥ dakSajAM tanayAM ramyAM munInAmapi mohinIm ॥ 7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथ तां वीक्ष्य मदनो रत्याख्यां स्वस्त्रियं शुभाम् ॥ आत्मा गुणेन विद्धोसौ मुमोह रतिरंजितः ॥८ ॥
On seeing his auspicious wife, Rati, Kāma was pierced by his own arrows and was overpowered by the pleasure of dalliance.
english translation
atha tAM vIkSya madano ratyAkhyAM svastriyaM zubhAm ॥ AtmA guNena viddhosau mumoha ratiraMjitaH ॥8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptक्षणप्रदाऽभवत्कांता गौरी मृगदृशी मुदा ॥ लोलापांग्यथ तस्यैव भार्या च सदृशी रतौ ॥ ९ ॥
His wife of fair complexion, tremulous side-glances and fawn-eyes, admirably suited to his love of pleasure offered him ample sports.
english translation
kSaNapradA'bhavatkAMtA gaurI mRgadRzI mudA ॥ lolApAMgyatha tasyaiva bhAryA ca sadRzI ratau ॥ 9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्या भ्रूयुगलं वीक्ष्य संशयं मदनोकरोत् ॥ उत्सादनं मत्कोदण्डं विधात्रास्यां निवेशितम् ॥ 2-2-4-१० ॥
On seeing her eyebrows the doubt arose in the mind of Kāma.—“These two have been fitted to her to excel my bow, by Brahmā who wants to undo it!”
english translation
tasyA bhrUyugalaM vIkSya saMzayaM madanokarot ॥ utsAdanaM matkodaNDaM vidhAtrAsyAM nivezitam ॥ 2-2-4-10 ॥
