लेभेन्धको गाणपत्यं कथं शूला द्विनिर्गतः ॥ देवदेवस्य वै शंभोर्मुनेर्लीलाविहारिणः ॥६ ॥
O sage, how did Andhaka get the position of the chieftain of Gaṇas after being released from the trident of Śiva, the lord of the gods, indulging in divine sports.
english translation
lebhendhako gANapatyaM kathaM zUlA dvinirgataH ॥ devadevasya vai zaMbhormunerlIlAvihAriNaH ॥6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएतत्सर्वमशेषेण महाधीमन् कृपां कुरु ॥ शिवलीलामृतं तात शृण्वत कथयस्व मे ॥७॥
O highly intelligent one, please be merciful. Mention all these sweet sports entirely to me who listen with attention.
english translation
etatsarvamazeSeNa mahAdhIman kRpAM kuru ॥ zivalIlAmRtaM tAta zRNvata kathayasva me ॥7॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इति तस्य वचः श्रुत्वा व्यासस्यामिततेजसः ॥ सनत्कुमारः प्रोवाच स्मृत्वा शिवपदांबुजम् ॥८॥
Brahmā said: On hearing these words of Vyāsa of immeasurable refulgence, Sanatkumāra remembered the lotus-like feet of Śiva and said.
english translation
brahmovAca ॥ iti tasya vacaH zrutvA vyAsasyAmitatejasaH ॥ sanatkumAraH provAca smRtvA zivapadAMbujam ॥8॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ शृणु व्यास महाबुद्धे शिवलीलामृतं परम् ॥ धन्यस्त्वं शैवमुख्योसि ममानन्दकरः स्वतः ॥ ९ ॥
Sanatkumāra said: O Vyāsa of great intellect, listen to the nectar-like sport of Śiva. You are the foremost of devotees of Śiva and you delight me.
english translation
sanatkumAra uvAca ॥ zRNu vyAsa mahAbuddhe zivalIlAmRtaM param ॥ dhanyastvaM zaivamukhyosi mamAnandakaraH svataH ॥ 9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रवर्तमाने समरे शंकरांधकयोस्तयोः ॥ अनिर्भेद्यपविव्यूहगिरिव्यूहाधिनाथयोः॥2-5-47-१०॥
When the battle began between Śiva and Andhaka, the leaders who had formed their armies in the unpiercing arrays of thunderbolt and the mountain, the powerful Daityas became victorious at first but O sage, by the power of Śiva, the Pramathas became victorious afterwards.
