सनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ स्वगेहमागते तस्मिञ्शंखचूडे विवाहिते॥ तपः कृत्वा वरं प्राप्य मुमुदुर्दानवादयः ॥ १ ॥
Sanatkumāra said: When Śaṅkhacūḍa returned home duly married, after performing the penance and receiving the boons, Dānavas and others rejoiced.

स्वलोकादाशु निर्गत्य गुरुणा स्वेन संयुताः ॥ सर्वे सुरास्संमिलितास्समाजग्मुस्तदंतिकम्॥२॥
Leaving their world and accompanied by their preceptor, the Asuras assembled and approached the Dānava.

प्रणम्य तं सविनयं संस्तुत्य विविधादरात् ॥ स्थितास्तत्रैव सुप्रीत्या मत्वा तेजस्विनं विभुम्॥३॥
They bowed to that resplendent Dānava their lord, humbly and eulogised him with love and respect. They stayed with him alone.

सोपि दम्भात्मजो दृष्ट्वा गतं कुल गुरुं च तम् ॥ प्रणनाम महाभक्त्या साष्टांगं परमादरात् ॥ ४ ॥
On seeing the family preceptor, Śaṅkhacūḍa, son of Dambha bowed to him with devotion and prostrated before him with respect.

अथ शुक्रः कुलाचार्यो दृष्ट्वाशिषमनुत्तमम् ॥ वृत्तांतं कथयामास देवदानवयोस्तदा ॥ ५ ॥
After conferring his excellent benediction, Śukra, the family preceptor, narrated the tales of the gods and Dānavas.
