सनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ एतस्मिन्नंतरे शंभुं प्रसन्नं वीक्ष्य दानवः॥ तत्राजगाम सुप्रीतो मयोऽदग्धः कृपाबलात् ॥ १ ॥
Sanatkumāra said: In the meantime the Asura Maya who was not burnt due to the strength of grace, came there on seeing Śiva delighted.
english translation
प्रणनाम हरं प्रीत्या सुरानन्यानपि ध्रुवम् ॥ कृतांजलिर्नतस्कंधः प्रणनाम पुन श्शिवम् ॥२॥
With great delight he bowed to Śiva and other gods. With palms joined in reverence and with stooping shoulders he bowed to Śiva again.
english translation
अथोत्थाय शिवं दृष्ट्वा प्रेम्णा गद्गदसुस्वरः ॥ तुष्टाव भक्तिपूर्णात्मा स दानववरो मयः ॥३॥
Then he got up. Maya the foremost among the Asuras, with his mind full of devotion and voice choked with emotions of love he eulogised facing Śiva.
english translation
मय उवाच ॥ देवदेव महादेव भक्तवत्सल शंकरः ॥ कल्पवृक्षस्वरूपोसि सर्वपक्षविवर्जितः ॥४॥
Maya said: O great lord, lord of the Gods and favourably disposed to your devotees, O Śiva, you are in the form of the wish-yielding Kalpa tree and devoid of special leaning to any side.
english translation
ज्योतीरूपो नमस्तेस्तु विश्वरूप नमोऽस्तु ते॥ नमः पूतात्मने तुभ्यं पावनाय नमोनमः ॥५॥
Obeisance to you O splendour-formed, obeisance to you omniformed; obeisance to you, O sanctified soul; obeisance to you, O holy one.
