घंटा सरस्वती देवी धनुषः श्रुतिरूपिणी ।। इषुर्विष्णुर्महातेजास्त्वग्निश्शल्यं प्रकीर्तितम् ।। २६ ।।

sanskrit

Goddess Sarasvatī in the form of the Vedas constituted the bells of the bow. The brilliant Viṣṇu became the arrow and Agni the spear-head.

english translation

ghaMTA sarasvatI devI dhanuSaH zrutirUpiNI || iSurviSNurmahAtejAstvagnizzalyaM prakIrtitam || 26 ||

हयास्तस्य तथा प्रोक्ताश्चत्वारो निगमा मुने ।। ज्योतींषि भूषणं तेषामवशिष्टान्यतः परम् ।।२७।।

sanskrit

O sage, the four Vedas are said to be his horses. The remaining planets became their embellishments.

english translation

hayAstasya tathA proktAzcatvAro nigamA mune || jyotIMSi bhUSaNaM teSAmavaziSTAnyataH param ||27||

अनीकं विषसंभूतं वायवो वाजका स्मृताः ।। ऋषयो व्यासमुख्याश्च वाहवाहास्तथाभवन्।।२८।।

sanskrit

His army came up from water. The winds were his feathers, wings etc. Vyāsa and other sages were the drivers of the vehicle.

english translation

anIkaM viSasaMbhUtaM vAyavo vAjakA smRtAH || RSayo vyAsamukhyAzca vAhavAhAstathAbhavan||28||

स्वल्पाक्षरैस्संब्रवीमि किं बहूक्त्या मुनीश्वर ।। ब्रह्मांडे चैव यत्किंचिद्वस्तुतद्वै रथे स्मृतम् ।। २९ ।।

sanskrit

O great sage, why should I dilate. I shall succinctly say. Everything in the world found a place in the chariot.

svalpAkSaraissaMbravImi kiM bahUktyA munIzvara || brahmAMDe caiva yatkiMcidvastutadvai rathe smRtam || 29 ||

एवं सम्यक्कृतस्तेन धीमता विश्वकर्मणा ।। सरथादिप्रकारो हि ब्रह्मविष्ण्वाज्ञया शुभः ।। 2.5.8.३० ।।

At the bidding of Brahmā and Viṣṇu the chariot and its adjuncts were created bythe intelligent Viśvakarman.
