देवा ऊचुः ॥ धातस्त्रिपुरनाथेन सतारकसुतेन हि ॥ सर्वे प्रतापिता नूनं मयेन त्रिदिवौकसः ॥ ५ ॥

sanskrit

The gods said: O Brahmā, the heaven-dwellers have been subjected to great distress by Maya the virtual ruler of the three cities, accompanied by the sons of Tāraka.

english translation

devA UcuH ॥ dhAtastripuranAthena satArakasutena hi ॥ sarve pratApitA nUnaM mayena tridivaukasaH ॥ 5 ॥
