स्थिरान् कुरु जगन्नाथ पांतु नः परिपंथिनः ॥ जरारोगादयस्सर्वे नास्मान्मृत्युरगात् क्वचित् ॥ ३१ ॥
O lord of the universe, make us steady. Protect us from enemies. Let not old age, sickness and death befall us at any time.
english translation
sthirAn kuru jagannAtha pAMtu naH paripaMthinaH ॥ jarArogAdayassarve nAsmAnmRtyuragAt kvacit ॥ 31 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअजराश्चामरास्सर्वे भवाम इति नो मतम् ॥ समृत्यवः करिष्यामस्सर्वानन्यांस्त्रिलोकके ॥३२॥
We wish to become free from old age and death. In the three worlds we shall subject all others to death.
english translation
ajarAzcAmarAssarve bhavAma iti no matam ॥ samRtyavaH kariSyAmassarvAnanyAMstrilokake ॥32॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptलक्ष्म्या किं तद्विपुलया किं कार्यं हि पुरोत्तमैः ॥ अन्यैश्च विपुलैर्भोगैस्स्थानैश्वर्येण वा पुनः ॥ ३३ ॥
Of what avail are riches, vast earth, excellent cities, other sorts of vast enjoyments or big positions and power?
english translation
lakSmyA kiM tadvipulayA kiM kAryaM hi purottamaiH ॥ anyaizca vipulairbhogaissthAnaizvaryeNa vA punaH ॥ 33 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयत्रैव मृत्युना ग्रस्तो नियतं पंचभिर्दिनैः ॥ व्यर्थं तस्याखिलं ब्रह्मन् निश्चितं न इतीव हि ॥ ३४ ॥
If one is to be swallowed by death in five days, O Brahmā, everything else belonging to him is futile. This is our decisive thought.
english translation
yatraiva mRtyunA grasto niyataM paMcabhirdinaiH ॥ vyarthaM tasyAkhilaM brahman nizcitaM na itIva hi ॥ 34 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ इति श्रुत्वा वचस्तेषां दैत्यानां च तपस्विनाम् ॥ प्रत्युवाच शिवं स्मृत्वा स्वप्रभुं गिरिशं विधिः ॥३५॥
Sanatkumāra said: On hearing the words of those ascetic Asuras, Brahmā replied to them after remembering Śiva, his lord.

sanatkumAra uvAca ॥ iti zrutvA vacasteSAM daityAnAM ca tapasvinAm ॥ pratyuvAca zivaM smRtvA svaprabhuM girizaM vidhiH ॥35॥
