संसाद्य गिरिशं पश्चादुत्संगे सन्न्यवेशयन् ॥ बालकं तं महेशान्यास्त्रिजगत्सुखहेतवे ॥१६॥
After pleasing her they placed the boy in her lap for the happiness of the three worlds.

शिवोपि तस्य शिरसि दत्त्वा स्वकरपंकजम् ॥ उवाच वचनं देवान् पुत्रोऽयमिति मेऽपरः ॥१७॥
Placing his lotus-like hand on his head, Śiva told the gods. “This is another son of mine.”
english translation
गणेशोपि तदोत्थाय नमस्कृत्य शिवाय वै ॥ पार्वत्यै च नमस्कृत्य मह्यं वै विष्णवे तथा ॥१८॥
Getting up and bowing to Śiva, Pārvatī, Viṣṇu and me, Gaṇeśa stood in front of Nārada and other sages and said—“My guilt shall be forgiven. Arrogance is the characteristic of Man’s nature.”

नारादाद्यानृषीन्सर्वान्सत्वास्थाय पुरोऽब्रवीत्॥ क्षंतव्यश्चापराधो मे मानश्चैवेदृशो नृणाम्॥१९॥
Approaching all the sages, beginning with Nārada, with humility he spoke: 'My offense should be forgiven, for such honor is indeed fitting for great men.

अहं च शंकरश्चैव विष्णुश्चैते त्रयस्सुराः॥ प्रत्यूचुर्युगपत्प्रीत्या ददतो वरमुत्तमम् ॥2-4-18-२०॥
We three Śiva, Viṣṇu and I said to the gods simultaneously with pleasure, after granting him excellent boons
