इदानीं श्वेतकल्पोक्ता गणेशोत्पत्तिरुच्यते ॥ यत्र च्छिन्नं शिरस्तस्य शिवेन च कृपालुना ॥६॥
Now we narrate the story of the birth of Gaṇeśa in Śvetakalpawhen his head was cut off by the merciful Śiva.
english translation
संदेहो नात्र कर्तव्यः शंकरस्सूतिकृन्मुने ॥ स हि सर्वाधिपः शंभुर्निर्गुणस्सगुणो ऽपि हि ॥७॥
No suspicion need be entertained, O sage. Śiva is certainly the cause of enjoyment and protection. He is the lord of all. Śiva is possessed as well as devoid of attributes.
english translation
तल्लीलयाखिलं विश्वं सृज्यते पाल्यते तथा ॥ विनाश्यते मुनिश्रेष्ठ प्रस्तुतं शृणु चादरात् ॥८॥
It is by His divine sport that the entire universe is created, sustained and annihilated. O excellent sage, listen to what is relevant to the context, with attention.

उद्वाहिते शिवे चात्र कैलासं च गते सति ॥ कियता चैव कालेन जातो गणपतेर्भवः ॥ ९ ॥
A long time had lapsed after the marriage of Śiva and His return to Kailāsa that Gaṇeśa was born.

एकस्मिन्नेव काले च जया च विजया सखी ॥ पार्वत्या च मिलित्वा वै विचारे तत्पराभवत् ॥ 2-4-13-१० ॥
